Last week my program took us to Brussels and then Paris. Both cities are phenomenal (word of the week)!. In Brussels I ran into people I know from the sates! Just walking around the city I hear someone behind me say "D.J.?", I turn around and it was Ewa from GW! This surprise only gets better when Ewa and I walk into a random bar and then I see someone else I know. Shiza, Liona's friend from AU. In one night the odds to meet people in a random city in Europe have to be a million to one, and I was that one!
Having been to Brussels before, I have realized that it is the city I picture in my head when I think of Europe. I know this city is different for everyone and Brussels, with its cobbled roads and diverse population (and the waffles!), is mine.
Paris was just as phenomenal as Brussels, if not a little better. I mingled among the Parisians, looking at shops and the tourist places but to be the cherry on top of the sundae, I got to hang out with Nicole! For those of you who know her, she already has some stories, so be ready :-)
This pass week has been boring, simply writing a paper on the formation of Kosovo (tres confusing!). Because of my lack of excitement this week I do have a list I made of things I miss back in the states (wrote it during a lecture :-/).
